The Illusion That’s Blocking Your Sales

A children’s book just schooled me on follow-up

With a nod to today’s writing; here’s a simple video of me talking about a nasty gatekeeper…

This morning.

Wake up, quick drink of water, dress, go for quick jog around the block to get blood flow, come back, greeted by my son, Legendary Lincoln, hugs, shave, shower, get ready for the day.

Lincoln is at the kitchen table with my wife about to eat, he loves to read at the breakfast table in the morning.

I sit down and pull over one of his favorite books, Daniel Tiger stories and start reading to him.

Immediately I notice two things;

  1. These stories are written incredibly simple

  2. I can’t read it that great because I am trying to overcomplicate the reading

My brain kicks in, this is too simple, It can’t be, it couldn’t be this easy, I need to complicate this, so I do what the habit always does. Twist it around, overthink the comma, the pause the flow.

Can you believe that?
