Shit...Again?
How multiple messes in my yard reminded me to follow up faster
Last week’s message was simple.
A follow-up text that led to a reply, “Shit. Sorry…”
This week?
It was literally shit. Dog shit.
In my front yard.
Again! Fourth occasion.
Same nicely maintained and highly governed neighborhood, same mystery culprit, same mess.
And this time?
I had enough.
Warning; slightly angry but fun message below…
Ever hit that point where frustration turns into immediate action?
That was me standing there in disbelief, scratching my head, mother f&^%ing words not meant to be typed here.
However, here’s where it clicked…waaaalaaaa…urgency changes everything.
When something becomes painful enough, inconvenient enough, or intolerable enough you stop hesitating and you follow up f&^king fast.
So I did.
I reached out to the HOA.
Not something I want to do because people should have the damn decency to clean up after their animals, I mean isn’t this common sense?
But I did hear a great quote sometime ago, “common sense ain’t so common anymore…”
And you know what the HOA said?
“Do you know who is doing it???”
As if I’ve got time to dog shit window watch while waiting to catch these neighborhood menaces commit their crime…
C’monnnn now!!
So yeah…I aiinntt gooott noo time to be the neighborhood watch dog detective.
But damn sure am making time to follow up until it’s handled.
This is the takeaway, pay attention…when you wait too long to follow up, the mess only gets bigger.
Whether it’s your lawn, your inbox, or your pipeline, shit starts to stink.
Don’t wait for the crap to pile up.
Wattaya waiting for, the frustration to become motivation?
Follow up now.
Don’t wait for the stink to set in.
Do something before the piles continue to grow.
Before your business or your yard starts smelling like regret.
Follow-up fast, follow-up often, follow-up before it becomes a bigger problem.
I don’t have my suspect yet, but the case is still wide open, and trust me…I AM FOLLOWING UP!
See ya next week, Follow Up Fam.
