Forgettable Doesn’t Get Followed Up On
What happens when you show up and deliver excellence

What sparked it…
This is an ode to a follow up “flow” in a fun manner.
CHUCA CHUCA ERA ERAAAA! (that’s my attempt to make it sound like music scratching)
I caught wind of one too many incredible videos of Harry Mack freestyling with nothing but a few recommended words from audience members on the streets, in clubhouses, interview rooms…
Have you seen him do this before? (I linked his channel above)
It amazed me.
So much so, I decided to research it.
I asked the question, how is it that some people are so gifted to speak and recall words that fast?
I certainly wasn’t dealt that hand.
In fact, my tone is much slower and I tend to forget faster…
Turns out, it led me to cognitive processing speed.
The brain's ability to rapidly take in, connect, and respond to information in real time.
It’s the same skill you need when…
A prospect throws a curveball objection.
You get caught off script.
You have 30 seconds to pitch and no time to prepare.
So then, I wanted to know how I could improve my cognitive processing speed.
Not for bustinn’ bars... aka raps.
But for mental “reps” not to be mistaken for “raps.”
Fast beats. Random words. Stream of consciousness. Hit it hard.
Push my processing. My recall.
Get sharper, faster, more fluid.
I was inspired by the raps he was doing!
I’ve always been fascinated with becoming a better communicator.
And similarly have punched myself, pissed off I couldn’t communicate at the level I watched others do it at, almost as if I were slower minded.
So what heck? It was work time.
These are the simple steps like me, you can turn into an exercise.
What you can do this week…that I’ve been working regularly myself.
Start your day with these rap, reps.
RAP 1:
“I speak my truth, don’t need a script,
My words come fast, my thoughts don’t slip.
I train my brain like lifting weight,
Slow at first then elevate.”
Rap 2:
“Thoughts move fast, I train to catch,
No second guess, I strike to match.
When words go missing, I don’t freeze,
I ride the wave and find my ease.”
Rap 3:
“My mind moves fast, like I’m lappin’ the track,
But my mouth falls behind, always fightin’ to catch.
Thoughts flood in, like a wave I can’t stop,
So I trip on my tongue just to land on the drop.
I know what to say, but the words come late,
Like my flow’s at the door but it missed the gate.
So I slow it down, get tight with the beat,
Train my mouth like a boxer light on the feet.”
This isn’t karaoke in the 8 mile…
It’s the Venice Beach mental muscle building gym.
You’re gonna feel strange if you’ve never rapped these before, oh I might add, OUT LOUD.
And if you’re using your voice in follow up communication…
NOT AI.
It’s a development skill that pays…Daily.
Read those raps before you jump into the day, loosen your mind, let the language rip.
That’s a tight follow up flow ;)
Got me feeelinnnn good, can’tcha tell?
